Good News!
I will post the short version and the long version.
SHORT VERSION:
I’m engaged!
LONG VERSION:
Robert came up to NoVa for the weekend. He told me he was heading back to Charlottesville after his
family’s Father’s Day dinner on Sunday.
He pretty much convinced me that he drove back to Charlottesville. We were even on the phone at one point and he
was like, "Hey, can I call you back in a few minutes? I'm almost at
my apartment and I want to unpack."
I’ve also been substitute teaching long term for a 2nd grade
classroom and yesterday was my last day of school. It was only 2 ½ hours long. After most of the students left, I see Robert
walk in. I was so shocked. Robert said I had a look of disgust on my
face, but it was a look of shock. I was
like, “What are you doing here?” He told
me he wanted to surprise me and take me out to lunch. Even at this point, I didn’t suspect
anything. I thought he was treating me
out since he knew I had a stressful few months at school.
Side note: Robert’s
been planning a trip to New York
in August and I was so sure he was going to propose to me then. He never plan trips! So, why would he unless it was for something special?? Robert said that was his decoy.
Unfortunately for Robert, I had a lot to do in the classroom
after the students left and people were hanging around in the classroom (He
wanted to propose to me in the classroom).
I had him help me clean up too.
Anyway, we finally left the school and walked to my car to go somewhere
to eat. In my car, Robert suddenly pulls
out this:

The quote on the bottom is from my favorite book and author:
“Stupid men are the only ones worth knowing after all”
-Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice
HAHAHAHA
This was a chronological story of our relationship (21
pages). It was pretty funny. This is the first page:

Here’s another funny page:

So, I’m enjoying the book still not really suspecting
anything. THEN, I come to the 3rd
to last page:
I’m very shocked when I read this page. Then, the next page is a sappy letter from
Robert. Robert doesn’t like it that I
call his letter sappy. Here it is:

As I am reading this letter, which by the way, makes me cry,
he comes around, opens my door (remember, we’re in my car), gets on one knee,
says “I love you” for the first time, and proposes. I said “yes.”
Here are some pictures we took afterwards:

the book and the ring

I got my dog in on it too! BTW, that shiny ring is my UVA ring.

A few minutes before peeing my dog. We're waiting for the mailman
to go away, so that my dog doesn't bite him. What an awesome
looking dog!

Of course a couplely picture.
Testing out the "blinginess" of the ring. Passed the test.

Getting ready to meet Robert's parents.

Robert really likes this picture.
